This initiative promotes the One Health concept – the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health by engaging Indigenous Tharu youths from Ward No. 10, Tulsipur, Dang. From April to October 2025, participants will explore urgent health issues such as zoonotic diseases, vector-borne infections, water and food-borne illnesses, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Through a 9-day intensive workshop on One Health and Citizen Science, Installation Arts and Digital Storytelling workshops split into three phases, participants will gain scientific knowledge and combine it with indigenous perspectives using installation arts and digital storytelling. This approach empowers youth to raise awareness, inspire behavior change, and become community advocates for sustainable health.
Objectives:
- Train Indigenous Tharu youth as One Health Ambassadors through art and storytelling.
- Promote hygiene, sanitation, and improved animal care practices.
- Integrate Tharu cultural traditions with scientific health messages.
- Foster community engagement and document outcomes for sustainability.
